We'll shed some light
on owning Mexican Real Estate. Mexico has a lot to offer in
terms of great weather, beautiful scenery, and authentic Latin American culture,
plus you will find lots of affordable real estate in Mexico. It is perfectly
legal for Americans to own Mexican real estate, including land and properties
located in the restricted zones; 50 Kilometers (32 Miles) from the Sea shore,
and 100 Kilometers (65 Miles) from International borders.
 The Mexican
government is promoting and encouraging foreign investment in those areas. Many
U.S. companies as well as individuals are taking advantage of the new law,
constructing new homes, purchasing existing homes and properties, as well as
building new residential developments and tourist resorts along the entire
Mexican coastline. | |

There are three
ways for Americans to own Mexican property; via direct deed (all interior
property), through a Mexican Corporation (including restricted zones), or
through a Bank Trust called a Fideicomiso (including restricted zones). All
three ways of property ownership are safe and relatively simple to transact.
 We do not recommend getting
involved in Real Estate transactions concerning Ejido land, which is communal
property, unless it has been privatized. Ejido land belongs equally to all the
community members, and privatization includes collecting all of their signatures
which can be a long and complicated process.
We at El Golfo Real Estate
will be happy to discuss with you in detail how YOU can take advantage of the
unique opportunities available in Mexican property ownership. We are able to
assist you in forming a Mexican Corporation or a Fideicomiso depending on your
needs. Our office is located in the same strip center as the OXXO store in the
center of town. Stop by and say hi, the smiles and conversation are one of El
Golfo's best attributes. |
